Homecoming Food Drive 2011 Breaks Records!

We were stunned and delighted by the massive turnout this last Thursday for our annual Homecoming Food Drive! Resident Halls competed to bring the most items in for the Cheney Food Bank, and nearly 11,000 items were counted! Here are some scenes from the very busy day:

Final results from the Bookstore's annual Food Drive, benefiting the Cheney Food Bank: 10, 763 items were collected, a 75% increase from last year's total! The leading Resident Hall was Dryden, with 2, 758 items, and the leading Club/Org/Greek was Alpha Omicron Pi/Phi Delta Theta with 296 items collected!

Both Dryden Hall and AOP/PDT won a 25% discount on EWU clothing for the rest of the year! Dryden also won for most items per resident and won a Tailgate game from Spokane Teacher's Credit Union!

Dryden: 2, 758 items. Dressler: 2,284. Streeter: 1,588. Brewster: 1,358. LA: 1,296. Pierce: 1,081.

Textbook Rentals!

We've just launched the ability for students to RENT many of their textbooks, in affiliation with Bookrenter.com. This company, the fastest growing online textbook rental portal, has thousands of titles and most likely yours! Now you can look up your textbooks here and see rental options where available!

A couple of things about renting textbooks: not all textbooks required at EWU will be rentable. This is often because:

1. You're required to buy a package, which can include a one-use web access card, for example. This package has a unique ISBN that no other textbook firm can identify.
2. The book is a special edition made for EWU. We have a few textbooks that only contain the pages that will be taught, and these editions will be cheaper anyway.
3. Lab manuals and other books specific to EWU (usually produced on campus) will not be available to rent.
4. For those titles that show a Rent price directly under the New and Used prices, those titles require a contract that is physically signed by you in the store. Because of this, we will cancel any of those orders for Rented textbooks. This does not affect rentable titles offered by Bookrenter.

If you choose to rent from Bookrenter, remember you will be dealing with them, not the University Bookstore. It will be your responsibility to return the title you rented from them at the end of your term (30-125 days). As opposed to Textbook Buyback, you will not receive any money back at the end of the quarter for rental books!

Bookrenter has set up a kiosk computer in our textbook area if you're in the store and want to compare prices. Anyone at our Textbook Information desk can help you out.

Fall Textbooks online beginning August 22!

Wow, where did summer go? We're already stocking up for Fall at your University Bookstore! Lots of new EWU merchandise has come in, tons of backpacks and laptop sleeves from Dakine and Ogio and we've just got in some Dr Dre Beats headphones. You're going to love what you see!

But of course you're concerned about your textbooks for Fall quarter. We're happy to tell you that they'll be online beginning Monday, August 22. Many titles have arrived but not everything--and so we wait until then to launch so we can fill your orders.

Pay close attention to your books, too--many will have a rental option. Because those require your signature on a contract to return the book when the quarter ends, they're not available to rent online. You've got to come into the store to buy the rental books!

Special Buyback information!

Due to year end inventory, the Daily Textbook Buyback at both the Cheney and Spokane stores, will not be available from Thursday, June 23 through Sunday, June 26th. During this time, if you have books you would like to sell you can do it online directly with the wholesaler through our bookstore website. Click on Textbook Buyback and select Option 1.

Daily Buyback at both stores will be available again on Monday, June 27th.

The Cheney campus Bookstore is open Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27 from 11am to 4pm, a great time to come in and pick up your books! On Monday, March 28 the Cheney campus Bookstore is open 7:30-7 before reverting back to normal hours the next day.

Spokane Riverpoint road closure!

We hope you're having a great Spring Break! Both University Bookstores are open this week so if you're shopping for your textbooks, plenty of time to come in early!

The Spokane Bookstore, located in the Schade Tower across the street from the Riverpoint campus, is open Monday-Friday this week. Currently Spokane Falls Blvd. is closed in front of Riverpoint, so Bookstore manager John Wilson offers the following suggestions to access his store:

"If one is coming from the west (downtown Spokane) you must turn off Division on Spokane Falls Blvd. past the Road Closed signs and turn left on Riverpoint Blvd. When that comes back to Spokane Falls Blvd one must turn right into the left lane which will take you into our parking lot. Coming from the east (Hamilton St.) at Riverpoint Blvd you just go into that left lane to enter our parking lot."

Blizzard Closes EWU!

UPDATE: We're back open today, Friday February 25, and we're open tomorrow, Saturday, Feb 26 from 11-3. Back to normal!

A massive overnight snowstorm closed both EWU campuses today, and so your friendly neighborhood University Bookstores are also closed. We are hoping we'll be back in operation tomorrow. Call EWU's snow line (359-SNOW) to get up to the minute information on campus closures. If there are no classes, we're also closed!

Any internet orders placed between Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning should ship Friday morning--if we're open! Thanks for your patience and remember--new items on the Championship page (clickable on the front page...or just click here).

We will be launching Spring Quarter textbooks on Monday, February 28. You'll know they're on there when the "Winter 2011" at the top of the page changes to "Spring 2011". We're federally mandated to release this information on Monday, however, we will not begin shipping books until the following Monday, March 7 because we are still receiving stock. You can order immediately, of course, but keep in mind we may not be able to ship your books for at least a week. Also, departments and professors can change their minds between our early release of the titles required for Spring Quarter and the actual start date on 3/28.

Championship gear update

Over 950 orders and counting since the EWU Eagles won the National Championship! With phone orders that number swells well over 1000. Wow!

We are finally catching up with your calls, emails and letters. Thank you all for your patience! We're happy to say we are almost completely restocked with merchandise, too.

We are slowly running out of some items that we won't be reordering. If you find a t-shirt, for instance, but you can't find your size listed, we're probably out for good.

Championship merchandise

Thank you to everyone for your orders of Championship merchandise! Three weeks later and we're still getting several orders every day. It hasn't even been a month since that great game and we're over 850 orders and counting!

If you've ordered merchandise and have yet to receive it, don't panic! Some items on the website are temporarily out, but we expect more quantities soon and will ship your order as soon as the restock arrives. If we're not expecting more of the item you ordered, we'll cancel that item and ship the rest of your order. Remember, you'll receive two emails when you order from us: one confirming your order, and a second when your order is packed and ready to ship (or hold in the store for pickup).

We're pleased to announce our Spokane location in the historic Schade Tower on Spokane Falls Blvd across the street from the Riverpoint campus will have Championship merchandise beginning Monday, February 7! Among the many items there, they'll have some exclusive merchandise available nowhere else!

And we're getting new Championship merchandise at the Cheney campus store, too! Keep an eye out on the pages of Championship merch--they'll be added as we get them in!

If you've called and left a voicemail to order merchandise or report an issue--don't worry, we're getting to you! We've been a bit overwhelmed with calls and are returning calls in the order in which they were received. Thanks for your patience!

The Latest on Championship Merchandise!

What a great week! Not only was our Championship Party an overwhelming success (see the story here) but we virtually sold out of everything we had for sale. Not to worry, because reorders kicked in almost immediately and now we are receiving our reorders!

If you ordered via this website your orders are a priority for us, and we are furiously filling them as fast as we can. You will receive a confirmation when you place an order with us, and also one when your order is ready (the email will say it's "packed" so rest assured if you asked us to either hold your order here or ship it, it's done and we'll either hold it or ship it in our next UPS pickup).

A note about shipping UPS: UPS raised their rates at the beginning of the year, and because we're shipping from the small town of Cheney it costs a little bit more to get it to you. Thanks for your understanding!

Some manufacturers haven't got our reorders to us yet, so if you haven't received a "Packed" confirmation yet, don't panic! We're holding your order and will ship ASAP. At this date we have received, since Saturday morning, over 600 internet orders. And we're thrilled you're ordering from us!

If you are anywhere near Cheney, please join us at Reese Court on the EWU campus tomorrow (Friday, Jan 21) for the Campus Celebration of our Champion Football Team! We'll be selling merchandise there when the gates open at 5, and the event begins at 6. A popular item we'll have with us is the Championship Football, which has ample room for autographs from your favorite player.

The next day, Saturday, January 22, Spokane's Riverpark Square is hosting a City Celebration of EWU Football and your Univerity Bookstore will be there! The festivities begin at 12 noon with a parade on Main Street, and continues inside the Mall afterwards. Details of both of these events are here!

Congratulations to the National Champions, our EWU Football team! Your University Bookstore will be celebrating this victory and championship season with a huge variety of National Champions merchandise.

When the game clock expired, our orders went active and manufacturers began producing our products. We are expecting this merchandise to arrive at our store in time for unveiling at our Championship Party set for 12 noon, Friday January 14. We'll be closed Friday morning to get ready, and the doors will be opening at NOON FRIDAY. Come out that day, wear your Eagle gear and get your Spirit Friday discount! We have lots planned for the big day so join our Facebook group to be first to know! Work that day? We'll be open until 7PM!

Because we're devoting that day to our customers that come to the Cheney campus store to help us celebrate, we won't be accepting phone orders or inquiries. The following day, merchandise will go active on this website for ordering. Because Monday, January 17 is Martin Luther King day we will not be processing and shipping orders until Tuesday, January 18. Phone orders will be processed starting Tuesday, January 18. Because of the anticipated high volume of orders, we'll process internet orders first, and cannot guarantee they'll ship that first day.

Winter Textbooks online!

We launched Winter Quarter 2011 textbooks this morning and have already received orders--thanks!

Just a reminder: it's always easiest to choose "Pick Up at Store" as your method of shipping. That way you won't have to haul your books here after break, and you'll save yourself shipping costs, too! You can order now and we'll hold your books until you return in January.

As always, we'll try to fill your order with Used textbooks if you prefer them, but if we don't get a title used (usually because it's a new book that doesn't have used copies) or run out, we'll fill your order with a New copy. The main thing for us is to make sure you have your books at the start of the Quarter!

Have a great Holiday break, and remember we're open all season long, excepting Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and weekends.

Thought we'd let you know that Winter 2011 textbooks will appear on our website for ordering on Monday, December 6.

The last day we'll ship out textbooks is Wednesday, December 22. After that date we will hold your order at the store whether you chose to have them shipped or not (and you won't be charged shipping). The exception of course is Distance Learning titles, which will ship as usual.

On Wednesday, November 24 we'll be closing at 4:30.

The Cheney campus Bookstore was the first stop Friday for Trick or Treating on the EWU campus! We handed out candy to the little ones and loved all the great costumes! Earlier in the day we handed out pumpkin cookies and had a Halloween Balloon pop contest--students that came in popped a balloon, and inside was a number corresponding to a great donated prize! Folks won bags, CDs and DVDs, computer accessories and more! Thanks to everyone for making it a fun Halloween's Eve's Eve!

Homecoming Food Drive Fun!

As we do every year, your University Bookstore sponsored a campus-wide Homecoming Food drive culminating in a count of goods on Friday, October 22, 2010. Resident Halls, Clubs and Organizations and Greek Houses competed for donated prizes and together we amassed over 6,145 items of food for the Cheney Food Bank!

As we have in the past the hall that collected the most food items per
student resident won the first prize of 25% off all Eagle clothing for the
Academic year. This year's winner was LA Hall with 1,748 food items and
that equaled 7.98 items for each of their 219 residents. STCU donated the
giant red beanbag that was awarded to the hall with the largest total amount
donated. This was also won by LA Hall. It was great to see that we had six
total halls participate in this year's event!

We appreciate the efforts of all our students and the real winners again are
those who use the Cheney Food Bank.

Red Turf Poster for sale!

Commemorate the first EWU football game on the Red Turf! We arranged with Blakeway Worldwide Panoramics Inc. to come photograph the 9/18 game and the resulting image will blow you away! An aerial shot, it shows the Inferno in all its red splendor, the record-breaking crowd, and even the teams on the field!

The finished poster measures 13.5x40" (or 18x44" for the matted version) and will look great on any wall at home or at the office. We'll be selling the product here at the Cheney campus Bookstore; if ordered online we can ship the rolled, unframed poster but the framed and deluxe matted and framed versions will be shipped directly from Blakeway.

If you're coming to EWU for the first time, welcome! You've chosen a premier institution with great, great people. You're going to have a great time here.

Your University Bookstore is here for you. You can order your textbooks ahead of time to pick up when you arrive. We are fully stocked with supplies like paper, pens, dorm supplies, batteries, ethernet cords, sweatshirts and more.

To accommodate you we're open on Wednesday, September 22, the first day of classes, from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm at the Cheney campus Bookstore. Remember that though the lines can get long at times, they move fast!

Rental textbooks come to EWU!

We are very excited to announce that the University Bookstore has initiated a pilot program to RENT textbooks to students beginning this Quarter! This will result in substantial savings for you and your pocketbook as the titles chosen for this program expand in the coming year.

The program applies to particular titles that were chosen for their longevity and popularity. You'll find what titles have been chosen when you come into the Bookstore, both Cheney and Spokane editions. The books require the signing of a rental agreement and the presentation of your school ID. Because of this, rental textbooks are not available for online ordering. You have to come in to take advantage of this!

As with any new program there are caveats to purchasing rental textbooks. Make sure you understand your responsibilities with a rental textbook before you take the leap. We hope you enjoy this latest way your University Bookstore works for you! Have a great Quarter!

A quick reminder that the cutoff date to order textbooks online to have them shipped to your home was today, Friday 9/10/10. Any textbook orders received from now until school begins will be held at the store you ordered them from (Cheney or Spokane). You will not be charged shipping.

Textbooks for Fall!

Our construction work promises to be done soon, but we've already resumed access to the Textbook area of the Cheney campus Bookstore! If you've ordered already, thank you, and we've either shipped out your books or they're safely tucked away until you arrive for classes.

If you are planning to order soon, keep in mind the last day we'll ship out Cheney campus textbooks is Friday, September 10. This is because if we ship after that to your home address we can't guarantee that they'll arrive in time for the start of classes on Wednesday, September 22. But don't worry--we have plenty of room here to store your order for you, and that's one less thing you have to haul.

This does not apply to Distance Learning or Spokane classes, but if you can, save money and have us hold your order for pickup. UPS shipping costs continue to rise, and books are heavy!

Under Construction!

The Cheney campus Bookstore will be undergoing some construction beginning Monday, July 12. Because the focus of the construction is in the ceiling above our Textbook section, all materials in that area have been boxed up and moved to storage for the duration of the project.

What this means is that Fall Textbooks, which you can now order, will not actually be processed and shipped/held in the store until the construction is completed, sometime after August 25. You are still welcome to place your order but your order will not be ready until then, and your credit card will not be charged until the order is processed.

If you do place an order for Cheney campus courses, we strongly recommend that you choose to have the order held at the store. Since our window of actual availability before school starts is smaller this year, shipping the textbooks to you may be delayed. This way you'll save shipping charges and you can be confident that when you return or arrive the books will be ready for you to pick up.

This doesn't affect Summer Quarter textbooks, or orders for textbooks at our Spokane location for Riverpoint classes. You can order both summer and fall Spokane textbooks now. However, remember as stated below that most Fall textbooks have not physically arrived yet in Spokane.

Ordering your textbooks

As per Federal mandate, today we launched Fall 2010 textbooks. When you order your textbooks, make sure you choose the proper Quarter (Summer or Fall) for which you need books.

Please note that for Fall textbooks, a majority of the titles have not yet arrived. Fall Quarter books notoriously are slow to arrive, and even though they're listed on the website, your actual order may not be filled for some time. Any titles you order that we don't have will be backordered and filled once the book(s) arrive.

Have a great summer! Remember that we're open all summer long (closed weekends, and closed Monday July 5 and Monday September 6). Save shipping and have us hold your books until you return to campus!

We're happy to announce that Spring textbooks are online as of this morning for both Cheney and Spokane stores as well as Distance Learning titles (find them under the Cheney store's listings).

Remember as of 3/21 we are no longer shipping out orders for textbooks except for Distance Learning classes. We can't guarantee books will get to you in time if we ship them. Instead we'll hold them at the store you ordered them at, and they'll be ready for you to pick up when you get back to school!

Textbook Shipping Reminder!

Please note that as of today, December 28, the Cheney campus Bookstore is NO LONGER SHIPPING OUT TEXTBOOKS. We can no longer guarantee their delivery to you by the start of classes, so instead we're saving you shipping costs and holding them here in the Bookstore. You need merely go to the Textbook Information area located in the rear of the Store to pick up your books. You will NOT be charged shipping, even if you chose to have them delivered to you.

We're open to pick up your books and stock up on supplies every day between now and the start of classes next Monday with the exception of course of New Year's Day, Friday January 1.

We're open M-Th 7:30-4:30, closed Friday, then open both Saturday and Sunday 11-4 before the first day of the Quarter, when we extend our hours 7:30-7.

The Spokane Store's hours remain unchanged. They're closed Friday-Sunday.

Holiday Shipping sched

Any orders placed between now and Monday, December 28 will not be completed and shipped (or held here in the Bookstore) until December 28 due to holiday-induced low staff levels. Both Spokane and Cheney Bookstores are open normal hours tomorrow, Christmas Eve, December 24, then closed until Monday, December 28.

Online orders placed between December 31 and January 4 will be processed as soon as possible but again, lower staff levels will be in place at both stores.

After December 28, ALL TEXTBOOK ORDERS WILL NOT BE SHIPPED. Instead, they will be held at the store you ordered them from. This is because we can't be sure they would ship and get to you before classes resume on Jan. 4. Even if you choose a shipping method, you will NOT be charged for shipping and your books will NOT be shipped out. The exception to this is Distance Learning/Online courses, usually assigned a "75" as their section number. Those ship as normal.

Don't panic! If you happen to click on the Distance Learning textbook link on the front page of our site, you'll discover Fall Textbooks are not listed. Don't panic!

They are now incorporated in the Cheney Textbooks link. Check your schedule carefully--most DL classes are Section 75, though there are exceptions.

And as we announced below, Fall Quarter textbooks are NOW ONLINE! Both Cheney, Distance Learning and Spokane campus textbooks are good to go!

Always remember your cheapest option is to order your books to be held here in the store until you're back on campus to pick them up!

Independence Day!

The University Bookstores Cheney and Spokane will be closed tomorrow, July 3 to begin the Independence Day holiday weekend. We'll reopen on Monday, July 6.

Because of limited staffing all internet orders placed between Thursday evening, July 2 and Tuesday evening, July 7 will ship Wednesday July 8 (this does not include textbooks).

SUMMER textbooks are up!

We enabled textbooks online this morning for all three campus stores: Cheney, Spokane and Distance Learning! If you're taking classes this summer, you can now order them online.

As it's still somewhat early, there's always a possibility that we haven't received the title you order yet. If that's the case you'll see that your order is still in "picking" status until the order is complete.

Our textbook shelves are now set up for Summer, too. And remember, Textbook Buyback for Spring Quarter books began today just outside the Cheney campus Bookstore in the PUB Atrium, and continues through June 12.

The University Bookstore Cheney campus held a contest on St Patrick's Day this year with trivia questions about Ireland that would even intimidate a leprechaun! The six questions weeded out the non-believers in a hurry and we had three contestants left standing at the end.

Congratulations to McKinzie Mounts and Ashley Berg, who both scored Dakine bags! They both answered every question correctly and can now be seen on campus looking for a pot of gold. Runner-up winner was Sara Byrne, who missed just one question and won a one-of-a-kind Eastern jacket made by Antigua.

Congrats again to all three and a hearty thank you to Dakine and Antigua for donating such great prizes!

We sell e-books that replace textbooks and special edition textbooks unique to EWU that compile only the pages you'll use during the quarter, thus saving you substantial bucks and saving some trees in the process.

We also carry a full line of recycled and small footprint school supplies, from pens and paper to binders and even Green Books (which replaced the Blue Books of old). We encourage you to make the choice to support these vendors who are doing their part to keep costs down while providing you and us with great alternatives to traditional products.

We've got great mugs just in that are made of recycled materials, and our Nalgene bottles are now BPA-free.

And we just scored some cool new t-shirts that spell out your feelings on the matter! These limited edition shirts are both available in two colors and look great!

Why not put all your merchandise in one of our reusable canvas bags while you're at it? These inexpensive bags can replace our plastic bags when you come get your textbooks, or use them at the grocery store. (By the way our plastic bags in the store are made of at least 50% recycled materials, too)

Earth Day is April 22, but we've been celebrating it every day for months now. Join us in doing what you can to eliminate waste and make ethical choices. We're all in this together!

Spring Quarter Begins!

Special hours have been announced for the start of Spring Quarter 2009!

We are open this weekend, March 28 and 29, from 11 to 4 both days. We strongly encourage you to come in and buy your textbooks on these two days or pick up your prepaid online orders. It's much quieter in the Bookstore and parking nearby should be easy. We are fully staffed and ready to help you!

On the first day of Spring Quarter, Monday March 30, we are open from 7:30-7. Yep, that gives you nearly 12 hours to come get your books and supplies to kick off the Quarter. The best time to come in is between 7:30 and 9 in the morning and after about 4 in the afternoon--the lines are short or nonexistent!

if you did order your textbooks online to be held here at the Bookstore, they're paid for and ready to be picked up. You can head right back to the Textbook Information sign in the back of the store and an employee will take your name and go retrieve your books for you. That's it--then you're done, and you can head right back out without waiting in line.

Remember to pick up pens, pencils, notebooks and other supplies you might need. We recommend recycled products--look for the green signs--and only ask for a bag for your purchase if you really need it. Better yet, buy one of our reusable tote bags!

Buyback ticket winners!

We are happy to announce the winners of our Winter Textbook Buyback contest! Students that sold books back could enter a contest to win tickets to see Blue October on March 28 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, and we gave away pairs of tickets to these winners: Kaitlyn Chattin (pictured), Cory Harum, Kennen Russoniello, Kate Whalen and Julie Rodmann!

The tickets were courtesy of MBS, the Missouri Book Service, our textbook wholesaler that conducted the Buyback. Congrats to all the winners!

Stuckey fan scores!

We're pleased to present photos sent to us by Ed Kavanaugh, who lives in Michigan and is a huge fan of the Detroit Pistons and Rodney Stuckey in particular! Ed ordered one of our commemorative Rodney Stuckey replica jerseys, which we rushed to him so that he could wear it to an area signing by Mr. Stuckey! Ed reports that Stuckey was very excited to see the jersey, and signed a 2006 program from EWU that our Athletic Department sent to him.

Not long after meeting EWU's biggest hoops star Kavanaugh wore the jersey to a Piston's game, as you can see from the other accompanying photos. We are grateful to Ed for sharing these terrific photos with us so that we can share them--with you!

Yep, you can order your textbooks online right here at the EWU Bookstore website! We strongly suggest you have the books held for you instead of being shipped out--with such a short break between Quarters, we want to make sure you have your books the first day of class.

Remember if you prefer Used textbooks we make every effort to fill your order with a used copy. If none are available, we get you a new copy. In many cases a book hasn't been used before on campus and we simply don't have used copies--but the important thing is to get you your book!

Children's Program success

Thank you to everyone that attended our very popular Children's Program on Saturday. The subject was dragons and everyone that attended got to make their own! We heard stories and had a yummy treat to wind up the hour.

It begins today! The event if you're graduating this year: Grad Finale!

Grad Finale takes place today and tomorrow in the PUB MPR from 9am-3pm. On Thursday we'll be in Spokane at Riverpoint! This is a FREE event.

At Grad Finale you can buy announcements and class rings. You can be photographed in regalia to order prints for your announcements. Check out special offerings from vendors designed for you, soon to be an EWU alum! Get your financial aid loans situated away. Learn about postgraduate opportunities and programs. Get a coupon for 25% off diploma frames at the University Bookstore! And: get fitted for your graduation gown!

When you get fitted for your gown you'll be given a coupon for $5 off the cost of your cap, gown and tassel set at the Cheney and Spokane Bookstores. Grad Finale is the ONLY place you'll get that coupon. The coupon is valid only for in-store purchases.

Helping Out at Buyback

The Nebraska Book Company, in coordination with the University Bookstore of Eastern Washington University, conducted "Operation Green Santa" from December 1-12, 2009. A pledge was made by Nebraska Book Company to donate $1 per every 10 books purchased during the Winter Buyback to the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge.
As a result, we were happy to present the "Friends Of Turnbull" with a check for $750 that will be used in support of their tree planting efforts to restore riparian areas within the refuge that provide cover and browse for area wildlife.

Our annual visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog was this past Saturday, January 24! Our most popular Children's Program of the year brought Clifford to Cheney and featured EWU First Lady Nadine Arévalo reading from her favorite Clifford stories! Children made their very own Clifford hats and we had dog bone cookies too! Photos of this annual fun event are here.

After a 24-hour delay, Winter Quarter begins today, Tuesday, January 6! The Cheney campus Bookstore will be open 7:30-5:30 to allow you time to get your books. Our Spokane Bookstore is open, too!

UPDATE: Due to excessive snow, all operations at Eastern Washington University have been suspended for Monday, January 5. The Bookstore will not be open, and there are no classes. Operations and classes resume Tuesday, January 6 depending on weather. Keep updated on conditions by calling EWU's Snow Line at 359-SNOW. The official announcement is here.

Any online textbook orders placed since Friday afternoon, January 2 are being processed as soon as possible. Most will not be available until late morning when (and if) operations resume on Tuesday. Please allow us time when we resume operations to get your order filled.

University Bookstore Reopens!

We're open today, Monday, December 22. We'll update this page and the main page as conditions change.

Any items ordered between Wednesday, December 17 and today are being shipped out today. Because of the weather situation we can't guarantee any items being received before Christmas Day--and for that we apologize!

If you've ordered textbooks they are being processed as quickly as possible, but are not today's priority as we attempt to get all merchandise orders out first. When your order has changed from "picking" to "packed" that means they're processed and are either being held here or are being shipped.

The city of Cheney has not plowed many roads and the campus as of this morning had not been cleared so we strongly advise you to not attempt to come to the Bookstore today.

Snow Day!

UPDATE: EWU is shut down again today, Friday, December 19. With luck operations will resume Monday, December 22! Ordering information is here.

The University Bookstore at both Cheney and Spokane locations is closed today, Thursday, December 18 due to inclement snow conditions. Eastern Washington University has suspended all operations for the day due to a huge winter storm that has dumped up to 20" of snow since Wednesday--and more snow is falling still.

On Friday, December 19, please check with us before heading to campus. The main number to check is 359-SNOW for EWU's Snow Line. It will be updated early in the morning on whether or not the University will be open.

In weather like this stay safe and only travel if absolutely necessary!

All merchandise and textbook orders received since yesterday are in processing and will be shipped as soon as the University is reopened. We apologize for the delay.
