Homecoming Food Drive 2011 Breaks Records!

We were stunned and delighted by the massive turnout this last Thursday for our annual Homecoming Food Drive! Resident Halls competed to bring the most items in for the Cheney Food Bank, and nearly 11,000 items were counted! Here are some scenes from the very busy day:

















We were fortunate to have members of the EWU Basketball team help load the trucks!

Final results from the Bookstore's annual Food Drive, benefiting the Cheney Food Bank: 10, 763 items were collected, a 75% increase from last year's total! The leading Resident Hall was Dryden, with 2, 758 items, and the leading Club/Org/Greek was Alpha Omicron Pi/Phi Delta Theta with 296 items collected!

Both Dryden Hall and AOP/PDT won a 25% discount on EWU clothing for the rest of the year! Dryden also won for most items per resident and won a Tailgate game from Spokane Teacher's Credit Union!

Dryden: 2, 758 items. Dressler: 2,284. Streeter: 1,588. Brewster: 1,358. LA: 1,296. Pierce: 1,081.

Alpha Omicron Pi/Phi Delta Theta: 296 items. Alpha Zi Delta: 95. Delta Chi: 5. Beta Theta Pi/Alpha Phi: 2.

Thanks to everyone that contributed. EWU demonstrates again it's Number ONE in helping its community!
