We've just launched the ability for students to RENT many of their textbooks, in affiliation with Bookrenter.com. This company, the fastest growing online textbook rental portal, has thousands of titles and most likely yours! Now you can look up your textbooks here and see rental options where available!
A couple of things about renting textbooks: not all textbooks required at EWU will be rentable. This is often because:
1. You're required to buy a package, which can include a one-use web access card, for example. This package has a unique ISBN that no other textbook firm can identify.
2. The book is a special edition made for EWU. We have a few textbooks that only contain the pages that will be taught, and these editions will be cheaper anyway.
3. Lab manuals and other books specific to EWU (usually produced on campus) will not be available to rent.
4. For those titles that show a Rent price directly under the New and Used prices, those titles require a contract that is physically signed by you in the store. Because of this, we will cancel any of those orders for Rented textbooks. This does not affect rentable titles offered by Bookrenter.
If you choose to rent from Bookrenter, remember you will be dealing with them, not the University Bookstore. It will be your responsibility to return the title you rented from them at the end of your term (30-125 days). As opposed to Textbook Buyback, you will not receive any money back at the end of the quarter for rental books!
